Toronto 2013 Runs
As the weather starts to move from winter frigid to spring-time chilly, Torontonians start to lace up their sneakers. Runners vary from those who are striving for a new PR to those who are working for the swag bag at the end. Whether you are one of the two extremes, or somewhere in between, there is a race for you. Here are some of the fun races coming up this month:
May
What: Goodlife Fitness Toronto 10K, 5K and half marathon
Why: It is mostly downhill which will make your PR go down as well. Maybe you can qualify for Boston! Or maybe you can just enjoy the scenery, with the 5K staying in the Lakeshore.
When: Sunday May 5, times varying according to distance
What: Sporting Life 10K run/walk
Why: This is a rite of passage for Toronto runners. It is capped at 27,000 runners so everyone and their grandmother will be there. A fun and festive celebration!
When: Sunday May 10 between 8-8:40am (depending on your wave)
What: Toronto’s Women’s Half Marathon and 5K
Why: You are a woman and damn proud of it. And you would prefer if your time was not eclipsed by the long legs of former male basketball players.
When: Sunday May 26 at 8 or 8:20am
