Vancouver City Connector and lover of all things yoga and wellness, Erin Urton, shares her craft: divine and decadent smoothie creative. Slurp your way towards vitality with these anything-but-ordinary, power-packed blender concoctions.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for... this week's smoothie recipe! It's fully inspired by the well-loved tuja column Tweak & Eat penned by talented RHN, Nicole Boileau.
On these hot-hot days I get a real hankerin' for, you guessed it, ice cream. So I looked to Niki's on-line wisdom for a healthy homemade version. Lo and behold, Blackberry Cardamom Coconut Ice Cream came to my rescue. Only I didn't have blackberries, so I subbed in my fresh farmer's market cherries. This totally hit the spot and I loved it so much I made a smoothie in its honour. A double tweak!
Now it's your turn...
Ingredients
We all scream for...Organic!
1½ cups of frozen cherries, any variety, no pits
1 inch chunk of fresh ginger, grated or whole
just less than 1/8 tsp cardamom
1 cup of coconut milk
¼ tsp vanilla
1 tsp hemp hearts
small splash of maple syrup
Add some greens to give this some flare or blend as is. You'll be screaming for more.
