Inside your yoga realm lives mindful breathing and graceful movement that flows between perfect postures. The path to this place is called Ashtanga and the door says Yoga Shala.
From the moment you step into Yoga Shala, you feel the tranquility envelop you. The strategically placed plants, the natural cork floors, and the brown floor-length sheers – all bring a sense of warmth and earthiness.
Don’t be surprised if you get the sensation that you’re practicing yoga inside a tree. The vaulted ceiling gives the ‘tree’ a spacious, comforting vibe.
The owners, Brent Mulligan & Dana Blond, succeeded in their quest for an Indian-inspired yoga space that beckons with warmth and serenity.
They also deliver on variety. Numerous types of Ashtanga classes are offered at Yoga Shala; Beginner Ashtanga, Guided Ashtanga, Yoga Flow, Gentle Yoga, Yang/Yin, Prenatal, Restorative, and Meditation. As a bonus for early-bird-gets-the-worm types, classes start at 5:30 a.m.
That feel-good feeling goes twice as far at Yoga Shala. They regularly do Community or Karma classes that require a food bank donation along with the reduced drop-in fee; all proceeds go to the charities they support. They also donate money monthly to Mysore, South India - the birthplace of Ashtanga yoga.
Yours is a good realm. Not only does it give you steadiness of body and mind through breathing and postures, it also gives a hand to neighbouring realms.
Who wouldn’t want to live in your world?
