It didn’t take long for Humani-T Cafe to warm the hearts of ice-cold-treat lovers in Halifax.
Humani-T has scooped up fresh, hand-made artisan gelato and sorbetto since opening in 2010. Made from scratch using mostly organic and locally sourced ingredients, their sensuous scoops contain no artificial flavours or colours. Traditional stand alone varieties like raspberry, peach, or vanilla can be found alongside the more adventurous Goat Cheese, Persian Rose or Gold Fish Cracker flavours.
When the weather turns cool, steam things up with organic, fair trade coffees and lattes. Try the delightfully fragrant and grin-inducing Chai Coffsky—the shot of espresso in your chai latte will make your palate sing.
Fresh sweets like baklava and dark chocolate oatcakes seduce from inside their glass cases. Any of the organic breads, baked-daily at the much-loved Boulangerie la Vendeene will provide comfort for the soul.
If you prefer a meal, organic homemade and vegan soups are made every morning. Local Panini lovers are abuzz over the cafe’s award-winning creations.
The cafe shares its two-storey building with Super Natural Health Products. It’s hard to miss the black and white yin and yang logo that sits like a happy eye atop the building.
Supernatural Health Products has been part of the Halifax health and wellness scene since 1994. The full-service health store sells everything from aromatherapy and bath products to supplements, teas, spices and natural remedies.
They also carry a line of super-fun Kickbikes. Developed for Nordic athletes, take one of these urban friendly scooter-cycles for an aerobic experience like no other.
Then indulge in an ice-cold cool off after your sweat sesh. You’re only human.
