No wonder the centerpiece of RauDZ Regional Table restaurant is a massive 21-foot long communal table.
At any given moment, a few—or even all—of their farmers and suppliers could drop by the cozy downtown hotspot for a visit because most are from the Okanagan neighbourhood.
Founded in 2009, with the vision to bring together friends and neighbours in a central, contemporary space, RauDZ is Kelowna’s mecca for regional food, leading the city’s restaurants in organic, sustainable and naturally-raised sourcing. That alone would make the eatery exceptional. But it’s not enough for the overachieving keeners on its gifted culinary team: they’re striving for spectacular.
Far from content to rest on the leafy green laurels of some of the most delicious local produce in the world, the RauDZ crew transforms those illustrious beginnings into pure gold. The food is more than stunningly innovative—it also tastes really, really good. We mean delicious. Perfect, actually.
For a surprising twist on a classic, check out the Grilled Salmon BLT, with crisp pancetta, black fig and anise toast, and fries baked in a super high tech infrared oven. For something more adventurous, try the Wild Boar Rigatoni. And don’t forget dessert—the Apple Puff Pastry with Salted Carmel Ice Cream takes Kelowna’s most famous down home export, the humble apple, to the next level of world class taste.
A spectacular overachievement.
