When we’re down, we like to go to our happy place. Luckily for us, HappyTree Yoga has blossomed into that peaceful abode.
HappyTree Yoga stemmed from a young woman’s desire to find her balance. After university, Melanie Richards faced uncertainty in her life as she struggled to make it as an actress.
She then packed up and returned to Ottawa, where she discovered yoga as a means of finding spiritual stability. This is also where she cultivated a dream to open up her own studio.
In 2007, Melanie planted her HappyTree Yoga seed in Montreal’s Westmount core and it has undoubtedly sprouted into one of the city’s most popular yoga dwellings.
HappyTree aims to help wandering souls find their path to a healthy, happy life that is lived with a deeper appreciation. Whether you opt for one of its gentler forms of yogatry (Gentle Hatha) or a more intense form (Power/Yin Yoga has recently been added to the repertoire), this Westmount studio can help you find both your yin and your yang.
The studio also fosters a sense of community. They host regular camaraderie-centred events (including a recently launched book club) and the team works closely with cancer patients and hospital staff in local cancer units.
Come see the forest through the trees.
