There's an old saying that declares that tea is liquid wisdom. If that's so, you're about to get a whole lot wiser with a visit to David's Tea.
Started in 2008 by a 27-year-old tea-loving Montrealer named David Segal, this combination teashop/café has since grown to a multitude of locations across Canada. Coffee-worshipping Vancouverites seem to be having no trouble switching allegiances to the healthy elixir: there are now two popular locations in the city.
With over 125 varieties of loose-leaf teas, plus cool accessories and extras like agave nectar and honey sticks, David's Tea offers a little something for everyone. From herbals to caffeinated cuppas, you'll marvel over top-selling blends like Goji Pop (hot pink tea with sweet goji berries, rosehip, lemon oil, apple melon, marigold and hibiscus), Read My Lips (China black tea, vanilla, peppermint, chocolate bits and red peppercorns) and Forever Nuts (almond slices, apple chunks, cinnamon bark and a touch of beetroot).
Wander into one of the bright, modern, white and wood-accented teashops and smell, touch and taste the varieties with the help of the friendly and tea-savvy staff. Take a tea to go or grab a bar stool or outdoor table to savour your chosen cup. If you decide to take some loose tea home, each one comes in a sleek, reusable metal canister printed with a custom label outlining the ingredients and brewing instructions.
Pre-tea clever.
