Sometimes you need to hear the raw truth.
At Gorilla Food, you'll hear it, see it and taste it.
Opened in 2007 as a tiny takeout window, this organic, vegan and raw food cafe and caterer is located in downtown Vancouver. Now a warm and inviting sit-down cafe, it has sunny walls, exposed brick, wood beams, stonework and earthy, abstract paintings.
Owner and raw food activist Aaron Ash saw a need for organic, vegan food in the city and decided he wanted to be the one to fill the void. The compassionate cafe works with their community, spreads knowledge about healthy eating, supports local, sustainable growers, and uses ecologically responsible practices.
Their approach is modern, fresh and all about making delicious, healthful meals and snacks convenient – like fast food for health-conscious people. If you're new to raw food, you’ll find fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds that are prepared with little to no cooking, thereby preserving the nutrients, enzymes and vitamins they contain. It's much more then just raw carrots and salads.
This cool little cafe has a large menu of creative and tempting treats that include sandwiches served on veggie flax or curry squash bread, unique salads, veggie burgers served on raw lettuce leaf buns, and gluten-free pizzas. If you're parched, go for one of their super healthy smoothies packed with fresh fruit, kale, hemp seeds and coconut oil.
Vive la rawvolution!
