As Juliet is to her Romeo, coffee is to a sleepy morning.
Vancouverites have been relying on Salt Spring Coffee to put a little spring in their morning step since 1996.
Created by a couple with a shared passion of going back to the land and sourcing the highest quality organic coffee, Salt Spring Coffee is a labour of love. Mickey and Robyyn opened their first cafe on BC's bucolic Salt Spring Island and have since expanded across Canada. There are now two Salt Spring Coffee locations, and their coffee can be found in hundreds of cafés, restaurants, and grocery and specialty food stores.
Salt Spring is no commonplace café: their beans are certified organic, certified direct fair trade and operationally carbon neutral. They also strive towards zero waste by composting, recycling, coffee sacks by donation and making efficient use of materials.
Luckily, their coffee is as good as their heart. Ethiopia Amaro Gayo Peru La Charca D'Dago and Sumatra KBQB are just a few of the freshly roasted organic coffees that are easy to fall for. Visit the island and be whisked away on your lunch with a steaming mug of Sumatra and their always-delicous freshly made soup and sandwich creation.
As the Bard said, “such stuff as dreams are made on”.
