For those times when your “needs” are not being met, there is an alternate course of action other than the obvious. Your
brain actually treats sex and meditation pretty similarly. They both have the potential to let go of self awareness and to transcend logic.
The next time you are feeling blocked energy in your nether regions (or perhaps too much energy) have a seat.
Begin to slow down everything. Your breath. Your thought patterns. Allow yourself to focus on what is.
When things are a little more in control, begin to envision that you are not just breathing in air, but also light. This light is the colour orange (the colour of the second chakra and
related to our sexuality). Imagine the orange light travelling everywhere, filling you up. Let it reach your fingers and your toes. Let it travel through your inner organs and genitalia.
Once you feel filled with
illuminating orange light, pause and take a deep breath in. When you exhale, hum “Vam.” Do it again, feeling the echo of the vibrational sound within you. This mantra is a cleansing mantra and one of its purposes is to aid those who are not sexually satisfied. Depending on how frustrated you are; you may have a lot of chanting to do.
You don’t want to deny what you feel. Yet you also don’t want to be led by your endocrine system. Meditation can help you to strike the balance.
