Yoga and wellness expert, Erin Urton, shares her craft: divine and decadent smoothie creative. Slurp your way towards vitality with these anything-but-ordinary, power-packed blender concoctions.
There've been bumper blueberry crops across the country, including at my favourite u-pick farm in Pemberton, BC - North Arm Farm. So why not feature this well-loved and well known berry and give it the respect it deserves for a winning performance this summer.
Blueberries are sky-high in antioxidants and loaded with other phytonutrients that ward off cancer, support immunity, bolster vitamin stores and contribute to your dietary fibre intake. Pair this low-glycemic fruit with almond butter, almond milk and some greens and you've got a balanced and filling breakfast just like that!
Hot tip: buy or pick extra and freeze some to get you through the winter.
Ingredients
Go organic.
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1 Tbsp almond butter
3 big romaine leaves
1 tsp raw honey (optional)
1 scoop plain protein powder (optional)
1 cup almond milk (or any milk of your preference)
Whip this up first thing in the morning, blender on high, and have a true blue beautiful day!
