Remember those lunch time or after school runs to 7-Eleven for a slurpee back in the day?
I sure do AND I harbour tremendous guilt for putting that gunk into my body. Thank goodness we’ve all come to know better!
Here’s a super simple treat reminiscent of an orange crush smoothie, but without the high fructose corn syrup, dyes, or other monstrous preservatives that make you and the planet slowly wither.
Think of it as hydration plus a wee
Vitamin C and fibre boost. Adults will appreciate the rosemary and orange flower notes and the kids won’t even notice it.
Ingredients
Organic helps the planet! Makes one serving.
1 large navel orange, peeled, no seeds (you could use a couple smaller oranges like mandarins)
1 tsp orange flower water (optional)
2 cups of ice
Add little bits of filtered water to get your blender rolling and to thin it out enough to drink. If you have a Vitamix or other high-powered blender, the tamper comes in really handy. The consistency should end up like a thick slush.
Bonus: If you do, in fact, have a Vitamix or a Blendtec you can even turn this drink into a dessert by skipping the liquid and making a sorbet!
