Packed with 3 types of citrus and a sprinkling of fragrant coriander seeds, the standard but equally delightful, G and T gets a run for its money.
If you’re gonna have a cocktail, you might as well do it right!
Citrus fruits, known for holding their own in the Vitamin C fight, add a little extra
cold-fighting nutrition to your drink. The coriander seed–fragrant, punchy, and a perfect pair with citrus–comes packed with a good supply of phytonutrients.
Combine these efforts and you’re closer to health than you think.
Ingredients
2 slices each of washed tangelo, navel orange, and lime (or try it with other citrus that you have on hand–a mix of sweet and tart is nice)
1.5 oz gin
Method
Put 1 slice of each piece of citrus in a cocktail shaker along with the coriander seeds, if using. Set aside the remaining citrus slices for garnish.
Muddle everything together to crush the seeds and release the fruit juices and oils of the citrus peels.
Put 3 or 4 ice cubes into a short glass and top with gin. Strain the citrus juice mixture into the glass, getting as much of the juice as possible.
Stir to combine, then top with tonic water or tonic syrup and soda water and stir to combine once more. Garnish by adding the remaining 3 slices of citrus.
*If making your own tonic water, follow the recipe for the syrup, then add ¾ oz of syrup to 3 oz soda water.
