Waterfalls, swimming holes, heat-beating shady trails through pristine wilderness. Sounds like a place that few people can access, doesn't? Luckily, we're describing a hike that's just a short drive from Montreal and we've got your guide to these beautiful trails.
tuja wellness contributor, Jessica McGovern wants to show you the way to her favourite swimming hole in Parc Régional des Chutes Monte-à-Peine-et-des-Dalles near Sainte-Béatrix, QC. It's the perfect hike for Montrealers because it's just a short drive from the city but it feels like you are a world away. And, if
you're not a hiker-hiker (like Jess) then this easy, breezy trail walk is perfect for you.
To get to des Chutes Monte-à-Peine-et-des-Dalles, leave downtown Montreal traveling east and go North on 25 to get to the 40. Follow Autoroute 40E and then Autoroute 31 N until you get to QC 343 N. Follow route de Sainte Beatrix until you see signs for the park. It should take about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Once you get to the park, there are plenty of maps making it hard to get lost.
There are plenty of
trails to wander but follow Jessica's route to the swimming hole for an inspiring and refreshing hike through the woods. Don't forget your bathing suit (we won't tell if you decide to skip it ;))
