Change is a funny thing. We want it even though we fear it. We know it's good for us but we worry how it will affect us. We celebrate others who embrace it while we question if we have the courage to do the same.
But when you crave it, change becomes inevitable. When you simply strive to be a better version of yourself, evolution will happen.
As of today, we've changed. And, while we went through all of the above, we couldn't be happier that we made the leap to a brand new website.
The most obvious changes are on the surface but dig a little deeper and you'll find that our search functions differently. It now pays attention to what you're doing so that it can predict what you might be looking for with keyword tags.
Our
City Guides are now more open and give businesses (not just tuja-approved businesses) an opportunity to tell you what they're all about. That should make finding great businesses where you live much easier.
And, our community is now more accessible and more influential - we encourage you to
join up and get to work in letting us know what you think, what you like and how you rate local businesses. Plus, your personal profile page will now store links to all of your favourite articles, products and vendors - no more hunting through the back pages to find
that great smoothie recipe!
One of our core values at tuja has always been transparency, so I want to also tell you about one more change that you might notice. There's going to be a little more advertising on the new site. We absolutely
love finding amazing people and
businesses to feature, sharing
great recipes and wellness ideas but we've discovered over the years that to do it well costs a bit of money (oh, the things you learn).
We want to go on supporting you on your wellness journey so we're asking you to do the same for us. If you love our fab content and community, please show us by supporting our sponsors and letting our advertisers know that you found them on tuja wellness.
You can also support us by shopping in our new marketplace, but, oops - that's still to come. That's the thing about change - it doesn't always happen as fast as you'd like it to.
This is our new website but, like all of us, it's still a work in progress. We hope you'll understand if it takes us a bit of time to work out the kinks. And, because we value our community, we hope you'll
share your thoughts and provide us with some encouraging ways that we can make the site better for you!
Here's to change and having a community that will not only support it, but help to drive it.
Kyla Gaertner from Banff, Alberta
Between hiking Tunnel Mountain daily and calling Wild Flour her home office, Kyla loves the Banff life (one year turned into two, turned into three… now on year seven). If her landlord allowed dogs she’d have one – in the meantime she’d be happy to dog sit your pup when you’re away. She never gets sick of trail mix, adores singing out loud in her apartment, and the best part of her day is when she gets to connect with others through words, stories, pictures or simply through amazing conversation.
