Now that winter has beat it's retreat, nature is beckoning. Will you surrender to its siren song?
Too many of us shut it out; trapped in the day-to-day of our concrete jungle lives. We've got a reason for you to submit to the call of the wild - your life.
In our latest podcast, host Tim Wohlberg connects with Dr. Eva Selhub. She's the co-author of the book Your Brain on Nature, an instructor at Harvard Medical School and a stress & mind/body specialist who's been featured on Dr. Oz. She's also a huge advocate for making time to be in nature.
Despite it being our nature to be in nature, she's found that we now have to make an effort to make it happen. And, since people need a motive to make an effort, she's compiled a huge list of the reasons we need to commune with nature to thrive in our busy lives. From our hearts to our head to our overall health, she shares the research that proves that a short visit to green space can boost our wellbeing.
If you're participating in the 30x30 Nature Challenge, you're probably starting to feel the effects of getting outside. Dr. Eva explains why we all need to make nature a regular habit - not just a 30-day exercise. She tells us just how much time is needed and how deep into nature we need to go to make an impact (hint - not long and not far!) She also reveals how you can quadruple the effects of your nature-time to see serious benefits to your stress levels, blood pressure, immune system and overall happiness.
Here's our prescription: listen to this podcast and take the learning for a walk in the woods. It could literally change. your. life.
