Business is business. The name of the game is to make money and as much of it as you can. But there are some businesses that incorporate altruism into their bottom line. We call that good business and we want to celebrate those companies that give back. In our column, Altruism Inc. we introduce you to businesses that are using their profits to benefit other people and the planet.
When it comes to finding a skincare product that is nice to the planet, nice to our bodies and just plain nice, there are few that fit the bill. Luckily the Yes To product line says yes, yes, yes to all of the above.
In fact, the whole company is about as nice as they come. They not only ensure everything they produce is free of parabens, SLS, phthalates and petroleum but packed also with the goodness of organic fruits and veggies.
Okay, so it’s a good clean product – there are lots of those out there. This company goes beyond producing a good product – they give back. A portion of every product they sell goes to their Yes to Seed Fund. This program plants the seeds of health with young people by giving them real seeds to plant. Introducing them to food at its very first stage not only creates a better understanding about where food comes from but it also helps them develop a healthy mindset toward wholesome living.
The fund has recently partnered with Mama Hope to create a program called Yes to Hope. American kids are connecting with Kenyan kids to share their experiences as they grow a school garden. The video doesn’t really explain it, but it’s sure to make you smile.
If you aren’t smiling after that, then the reasonable price point of the whole product line will give you something to grin about.
It’s no wonder people are having a hard time saying no.

If you’re ready to say yes, then check out Yes to Carrots, Yes to Cucumbers, Yes to Tomatoes and Yes to Blueberries (your wee ones can say Yes to Baby Carrots!) at your local Whole Foods Market or Shopper’s Drug Mart.
