It’s Friday and you've worked hard this week so, how about something easy? It’s the Fast Friday 5 – a quick five things you need to know, served up nice and simple.
What is happiness? Figuring that out has given philosophers something to do for eons. We know you don’t have that kind of time, so forget about what it is and just go get some using these happiness-pumping exercises.
1. Go Play Outside. We’re pairing exercise with fresh air for a heaping helping of happiness. Add a friend to the mix and you’ve got yourself the cherry on top.
2. Give Someone a Hug. There’s an equation that goes something like giving + love = happiness. So, we figure lots of spontaneous hugging should multiply that result exponentially.
3. Sing, Sing a Song. Maria from the Sound of Music was on to something. Whether it’s a lung-loosening sing-a-long in the car, a shower operetta, or with a glee-style choir, bursting into song is bound to bring the happy.
4. Sniff ‘n smile. Ylang ylang, Bergamot and orange are essential oils known to inspire joy, but sniff around until you find your own happy scent combination. Pop a few drops it into your bath, room spray bottle or add it to some massage oil and convince someone to help the cause. Buy the good stuff here.
5. LOL. Laugh like a maniac. Laugh like a schoolgirl. Laugh all sinister-like. Laugh without making a sound. Laugh like this:
