“Gee, Dad, if you knew climate change was happening, why didn’t you try to do anything about it?”
Visualizing the words eventually coming from his daughters’ mouths motivated Geoff Domenico to do something about our warming planet.
Five years ago Geoff founded KCP Energy, which supplies solar hot water and solar electricity to homes, business and municipalities in Canmore, Banff, Calgary and surrounding areas. Based in Canmore, KCP comprises the dynamic duo of Geoff (as President) and Installation Manager Travis Ontkean.
KCP isn’t just about energy. They keep the big picture in mind, and know that reducing our carbon emissions is intrinsically linked to a more sustainable, healthy and prosperous world.
Three words define this company’s mission: carbon-neutral, collaborative and community-oriented. Their practices are also just darn cool: ask Olympic Nordic skier, Sara Renner, and she’ll tell “there is no better feeling than having a bath from water heated from the sun.” Next on the agenda for KCP is finding efficient fossil fuel to use alongside their sun-powered solutions.
Switching your energy allegiances has great benefits for the planet. KCP believes a typical Solar Electric or Solar Hot Water system will reduce your household’s emissions by one ton per year for the next 20 years. And because KCP manages the entire client experience – from design to installation, energy monitoring and maintenance – you can be sure that going green with your home is simple and cost-effective.
Your children will thank you.
