They say two is company, but three’s a crowd.
We say stretch the circle wider.
Since opening in 2000, Coop La Maison Verte has been a devoted community builder in Montreal. The bright Sherbrooke storefront, with a kids play area and a ramp for wheelchairs, is a warm invitation that everyone is welcome.
All 1000+ products the Coop sells are either sourced locally or made by companies committed to ethical and environmental standards. They carry everything from bulk bio shampoo to heritage organic tomato plants, biodegradable tableware to windup radios.
Great coffee has always been a big part of the La Maison Verte experience. Sidle up to the long counter, pull up a stool and order the fair trade organic caffeine hit of your choice. But be prepared, a coffee here usually comes with a side of politically stoked conversation with one of the regulars.
Anyone can shop at the Coop, but with a membership (a lifetime membership can cost as little as $10) you get 10-50 percent off selected products. Membership also gets you invitations to the Coop's workshops (from independent film screenings to regular stitch parties for DIY craft lovers), the online newsletter, a chance to volunteer and an opportunity to serve on the board of directors.
With over 7,000 members already signed up, you know you'll be in good company.
