Yoga can be physically challenging, mentally invigorating, and spiritually inspiring. But fun?
Visit Centre Luna Yoga on St. Paul West to discover how those old familiar postures can bring a smile to your face and a song into your heart. Where else in Montreal can you listen to the harmonium playing when your class starts?
The folks at Centre Luna Yoga are grounded in Jivamukti yoga. This unique approach to Hatha yoga offers the same spiritual and physical benefits with increased vigor and Luna is the only studio in Montreal to offer it. In the 7 years since opening, they've watched their clientele steadily grow.
Using an active Vinyasa-style practice that emphasizes flow, classes encourage openness and breath awareness as well as strength, endurance and flexibility. Expect a China-Gel rub before class, uplifting music and hands on adjustments throughout, and a soothing lavender massage during savasana. The goal is an overall sense of peace, connection to the earth and to each other and, of course, joy. That old chestnut.
Centre Luna Yoga is spacious, with a large light-filled practice room, dark bamboo floors and soaring ceilings. The bulletin board in the inviting lounge announces upcoming events and even displays a photo of a 91-year-old grandmother doing plank pose. And yes, she's smiling.
