Summer’s in full swing and we don’t want to bum you out, but it will be over before you know it.
Make it last with a summer-fun bucket list. To get you started, here are 5 items for your list.
1. Top of the world.
See the sunrise and set from the top of a mountain. Now, you could do this in one fell swoop by sleeping on the top of a mountain (recommended) or work a little harder and do them separately (also recommended). Bonus points for doing some yoga up there!
2. Be a Water Angel.
Being a dog in the summer is thirsty work. Be an angel and pop a bowl filled with cold, tasty water down outside your favourite coffee shop, a busy street corner or at the end of your driveway. It won’t get you into doggy heaven but it will earn you a few more best friends.
3. 24 Hours in Nature.
We know the benefits of getting a little bit of nature into our every day but this item requires you to spend all day in nature. That’s right – a full 24 hours outdoors and in nature. It might look like camping or sleeping under the stars as long as you keep it all outdoors. Survivor Man’s got nothing on you.
4. Be a Hyper-Local Chef.
Make an entire meal using only the ingredients that come from your garden. You can make this one a little easier by teaming up with your neighbours (or fellow community gardeners) and have everyone contribute what they have. You might be surprised how fresh and delicious checking off this item can be.
5. Reclaim Your Youth.
Do something you haven’t done since you were a kid. Think back to your youthful summers – what are you picturing? Go do that! We’re thinking of getting the gang together to go ride bikes (aimlessly and with no sense of it being a workout), setting up a lemonade stand, grabbing a ball and three friends and playing four-square or finding a really beautiful tree and climbing it, just cuz. Go on, reclaim your youth.
We’re ready for you, summer, and with this start to our bucket list its full steam ahead. What else will you put on your bucket list?
