Love it or hate it, the words financial planning certainly are charged.
We all have opinions on the way to do things (or the way to stick our heads in the sand). We can see money as good or bad, or we can see it as what it is.
If you find that youre getting your back up when youre trying to get control of your finances, it is time to meditate.
Before you start crunching, you must start by looking at yourself.
Sit down, think about financial planning and be respectful of your feeling function.
The heart can be given equal respect as your thoughts and mind. Are some of your feelings culturally trained as to how much you should be making? Distinguish the voices inside of yourself and work on finding your true voice.
Once you feel you have settled into your own voice, be gentle and forgiving. The fact that you are not perfect with money is just proof that you are delightfully human. Give yourself a break as you sit in silence. Every time a disparaging thought comes up, remind yourself that you are a good person.
As you open your eyes, write down five things that you want to foster with your relationship with money. It can be words like freedom or responsibility. Use your true voice.
Once you know what you want from your money, it will be all the easier to save it.
