If you've had your heart broken, you know it can be as much a physical experience as a mental experience. If you haven't had your heart broken, you lucky sonofagun.
For those currently nourishing their emotionally depleted side, put aside the box of Kleenex for a moment and have a seat. This meditation is for you.
As you close your eyes, it's quite likely that your mind will be flooded with memories. This will not help in your healing, so for the time being, take a few breaths and let the breaths consume your full attention.
Imagine you are breathing into the space of your heart. Breathe through the front, back and sides of your heart.
Now take your inhalations at they come and as you exhale say the word Yum. Really drag out that word: Yummmmmmm. If it makes you uncomfortable saying it aloud, repeat it to yourself in your head.
The purpose of this meditation is not to fuel your appetite. Rather, the word “yum†is associated with the anahata, or heart chakra. This will promote healing and set you on the right path. (Plus, it is a fun word to say.)
Stay with this sound, letting it reverberate within.
When you feel like you are calmer, open your eyes.
It's time to move forward.
