Remembrance Day was created in memory of those fallen during World War I.
Unfortunately, we've had many wars since.
The brilliant red of the poppies we wear well demonstrates the blood that was shed in service to our country. This highly charged symbol has been used by generation after generation to render honour.
Around the country, there are many moments of silence on Remembrance Day. However, consider taking time for your own reflection to pay tribute to the sacrifices of Canada's men and women in armed conflicts.
Turn off all technology and all distractions. Close your eyes and sit tall.
Feel yourself tune into a present and sacred place.
Send your attention, your energy and your love out with every breath that you take.
With every exhalation send out gratitude.
Imagine the fallen receiving your message and continue to stay with your meditation memorial for as long as you are able.
When the time has come to open your eyes, fix a poppy to your lapel with pride.
