This episode of the tuja wellness podcast originally ran on December 9th, 2014.
Many of us have the big dream. You know, the one where we’re wildly successful doing what we love and positively simmering in satisfaction and happiness.
For many of us, that big audacious goal is a “someday” while few us are striving toward it or have achieved it.
Kristen Stuart was one of those few. She went for it and she was doing it but she also paid a price. And that price was too high. She crashed and burned. Her body shut down, she’d hit total adrenal failure, she slipped into a dark depression and didn’t know how or why to pull herself out.
In our latest podcast, Tim Wohlberg is honoured to hear Kristen’s amazing story – and we’ll let you in on a little secret – she recovers beautifully and is happy to share her struggles to help others avoid them. We couldn’t be happier to introduce you to her because frankly, it’s about time. Kristen Stuart was a part of the brain trust that dreamed up tuja wellness in the first place. She continues to be a tuja advisor while running her business in Canmore, AB.
About Kristen Stuart
Kristen is a yoga & meditation instructor and wellness coach who also runs a variety of different retreats. She’s successful in what she’s doing now, and happy, but she went through a lot to get to where she is today. She shares her story of struggling with her drive to have it all, the pressures she put on herself and the ones she perceived from those around her. She also talks about anxiety, depression and the physical signs she chose to ignore that ultimately led to everything coming crashing down around her.
Kristen’s experience is something that everyone who has ambition should hear. Her journey through depression and adrenal fatigue is not about scaring people out of chasing their dreams. On the contrary, it’s about encouraging them to chase the right ones in the right way. She shares the warning signs to watch out for, provides some insight into how to get real about your dream life, and offers up an exercise to help you set the reset button anytime you feel the pressures mounting up.
This may be a cautionary tale but it’s also an empowering one. So, join us on this real-life rollercoaster ride and you’ll soon see your ambitions and goals in a whole new light.
