Gut health is proving to be linked to all kinds of conditions and diseases. From anxiety and autism to immune function and inflammation, the microbiome in your belly can influence your quality of life immensely.
There are loads of whole food sources that help the friendly flora in your gut flourish – and fermentation is the key.
Kefir and kombucha are my favourite ferments and this week we blend up milk kefir with low glycemic and high antioxidant berries, add a little coconut oil to help your body absorb and assimilate all of the great nutrients, and a squeeze of lime for freshness and alkalinity.
If dairy gives you the belly blahs, try coconut kefir or even water kefir as a substitute.
Blend on!
