I’m a lover of grapefruit but struggle sometimes to have it taste good in a smoothie. How could something so delish on its own blend so terribly with almost everything?
Alas, the struggle is over.
My sweet Pemberton strawberries frozen from last summer with the sweetness of dates balance the tangy bitterness of grapefruit perfectly. Pink grapefruit is hydrating, loaded with vitamin C and full of anti-inflammatory compounds.
Add some hemp hearts and avocado for richness (i.e. omegas and protein), and you’re that much closer to a match made in smoothie heaven.
Ingredients
- Go organic! Makes one serving.
- 1 cup strawberries
- Flesh of half a pink grapefruit
- 4-5 soft Tunisian dates (or 3 medjool dates)
- 1-2 Tbsp hemp hearts
- ¼ avocado
- 1½ cups of filtered water
Blend until smooth. You’ll make this one for days.
